Coral Stone

This is general guidance for natural stone. Conditions vary from site to site, so check with our team before you start.

Installation

Our stone is cut to size in the Mombasa workshop and arrives ready to lay on walls or floors.

Lay it with ordinary Portland cement on a sound, level base, and point the joints with a grout coloured to match the stone. No special adhesive is needed.

Sealing and finishing

The stone can be left natural, or finished with a sealer, liquid waterproofing silicone, resin or wax, depending on the look you want. A finish deepens the colour and makes the surface easier to clean.

Porous stones such as coral benefit most from sealing, especially outdoors and around pools.

Cleaning and maintenance

Sweep regularly and wash with clean water and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid acid or bleach-based cleaners, which can mark natural stone.

Re-apply sealer when water no longer beads on the surface.
